ARE WE REALLY INDEPENDENT???

This is a question has remained in mind after seeing, feeling and hearing surroundings. Country cannot be a piece of land. Any country is built and recognised by people living on that piece of land. It’s people who represent country and its image not the piece of land.

When we say we are independent; what does that mean? A piece of land is independent or we country people are independent? It’s OK if it’s previous but need lot of thinking for later.

Here are few things which make me thinking about independence in real sense:---

1. Our own country people give us adulterated food like milk, fruits, grains, etc. Our own people play with our as well as their own life. Isn’t this equaling to murder? But still they are never punished badly and neither any political party workers nor any NGO nor we people does anything against that? Here Money empowers Humanity.

2. Our country has the best fertile land in the world but still we Indians eat second quality food, fruits, etc as the best quality products are exported. Isn’t it ridiculous? What matters most money or humanity? Here again Money empowers Humanity.

3. Some of the Indian manufacturers’ manufactures best quality products for export but they compromise on quality for products to be sold in Indian market. Why? Here again Money empowers Humanity.

4. In our country agitations are conducted against issues where there is some undue interest of some political party, but no one will agitate to demand hang Kasab. What a pity? Don’t know what can be interest here?

5. Corrupt, scamsters high profile personalities will live in a comfortable conditions in Jail with all required advance facilities. But our own policeman will live in Police Colony which is in pathetic conditions. Where is the governance?

6. We never follow traffic discipline. We for our own convenience create inconvenience for others and put our as well as others life into danger. We all know, read, talk, see and sometime experience bad effects of reckless driving but still we don’t want to behave responsible. Now fortunately we have better roads than past, better sophisticated cars but instead of enjoying good road and drive we create ruckus.

7. We speak about reservations, minorities. We talk about separate states, districts. But no one speak about unity. We demand reservation as per caste rather than ability. In education one’s intelligence works not caste.

8. There are heavy fees in colleges but education quality has deteriorated. Why private coaching classes works so good? There are no strict norms for colleges for facilities and education quality. Why every year parents has to agitate against school for fee structure or some other issues? Why can’t we have some uniform structure? There is same sort of scene in colleges every year.

9. Our country is one of the best rather the best for IT solutions and irony is our own governance system is still not using it completely for flawless working. We have one of the best brains in IT but then why can’t our own country make use of these brains for own betterment. Who is at fault?

10. Entire government system, contractors earn bag full of money by given us inferior quality infrastructure. Now here the contractor, politician, government officer all are responsible for such irresponsible behavior. Everybody is earning then why not give better work quality?

11. We have second largest population in the world and we are the poorest country to utilize the same man power to improve our own country’s productivity. It’s always surprising how people get time to participate in any political rally. Here we cry for unemployment, business houses cry for shortage of labour. What is this equation?

12. We are a country where importance is given to religion, caste, language rather than a human and his/her abilities. System is designed by keeping religion and caste in mind. Jobs are given as per caste instead of ability.

13. Every person has different thinking, ability but it should be in the direction of growth, betterment, peace, etc.

14. Media has a undue liberty in our country. It is more interested in showing negative news about India which they call it as a masala news which will fetch them more viewers so the revenue. There are so many nice, beautiful things happens in India, real life heroes who are working for humanity, beautiful places to visit. India has a very rich culture and tradition. Media should highlight these cultures so today’s young generation will know about it and they will follow these tradition instead of highlighting stupid days like Valentine, friendship, mother, father, etc with some commercial motive behind it. You don’t need one day to express your feelings about any relationship. Everyone expresses that in some or the other way daily. Lot of great inventions happens in our own country. Media should highlight them and create motivation for young scientists.

15. We have been reading about pathetic situation about facilities provided to Indian Hockey; a national game; since longer time now. But still no one has come forward and taken required steps to improve this situation. Neither government nor any corporate business house has come forward to rescue Indian Hockey, unlike cricket, which is most hyped sports in India. We have very poor facilities, system to create sports person out of 1.2 Billion people. Such a shame after CWG (Pune and Delhi).

We all always talk about such issues in our all possible social gatherings like over a party, with friends on katta, gathering at any social functions but all in vain because we only discuss about it and can’t do anything because we are also human like politicians, government officials who misuse their power. I think even most of people will do the same if they get that power. We all need to change our thoughts to make our country truly independent. When every businessman, politician, public representative, government officials will behave responsible and when country will be preferred first over anything else, then I think we will have Independent Country in real sense.
